About LulaBet: the company, the licence and the platform behind it
Lula Bets (Pty) Ltd trades as LulaBet under a Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board bookmaker licence, running on technology from a platform provider whose other clients include Entain and Flutter.
Platform and certification
Who actually runs LulaBet
Lula Bets (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2018/557108/07, launched LulaBet in September 2022 as the first South African deployment of platform technology from Amelco, a UK-based sports-betting infrastructure provider founded in 2006. Amelco's technology also underpins global operators including Entain, Flutter and Hard Rock Digital, though Amelco itself does not run any consumer-facing brand — LulaBet operates fully independently on that infrastructure.
Before launch, the sportsbook platform underwent certification by Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) against SANS 1718 Part 4, the South African technical standard covering betting systems, a step aimed specifically at meeting provincial gambling board requirements rather than a generic international badge.
Regulatory record
What LulaBet's licence number should show
LulaBet's own site and its App Store listing state a Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board bookmaker licence number of 10190073-005, issued 31 May 2025, at a registered address of 65 Castle Street, Cape Town City Centre, 8000. At least one independent review source instead cites licence number 10190073-003 — an unresolved conflict worth checking directly with the WCGRB rather than assuming either figure is definitive.
The registration number 2018/557108/07 is consistent across every source checked and identifies the same legal entity regardless of which licence-number figure is accurate, so it remains the more reliable single identifier to verify independently.
Getting in touch
Reaching LulaBet directly
Support channels listed publicly include live chat through the website, phone contact and email support for account or verification queries, alongside the postal address on record with the WCGRB. Confirming any licence detail directly through these official channels remains the most reliable check, rather than relying on any single third-party summary, including this one.
